I recently figured out something in blender

I searched for a lot of tutorials but nothing was really sticking

But I figured it out and I have to share with you...

So I have been modelling a lot of 3D clothing recently, and I learned this very neat method for making CLOTH SEAMS.

PS: (You are going to need good topology for this one), To start out:

We are going to select every part of the object were we need seams, and then we are going to 'Mark Sharp'. Press CTRL + E to bring up the Edge menu.
Then we are going to add these three modifiers to the cloth mesh in this order: the edge split modifier, the solidify modifier and a subdivision surface modifier (just the way it is shown below)
It may look messy now (like the right side shown below), but don't worry—we just need to adjust some settings in the modifier stack.
Uncheck EDGE ANGLE in the edge split modifier. In the solidify modifier, under EDGE DATA, set INNER CREASE & RIM to 1. Add a subdivision modifier to the top if needed.
And voila! we done

That's the most effective way to add seams to clothes without extra geometry.

I'm still figuring out Blender's cloth simulation, as I'm more familiar with Marvelous Designer, but I'll make a tutorial once I do.
